The appropriate tip depends on the application. Filtered pipette tips provide an additional aerosol barrier and are commonly selected for sensitive samples, PCR work and contamination-controlled workflows. Unfiltered tips are suitable for many routine liquid-handling procedures.

Nest low retention effect comes from a polypropylene, CTFE copolymer. The low retention additive is embedded in the tip resin and cannot leach.
