How to Choose a Polycarbonate Erlenmeyer Flask

Select the nominal flask capacity according to the required culture volume, shaker platform and validated process conditions. The total flask capacity should not automatically be treated as its recommended working volume.
Choose a Flat or Baffled BottomFlat-bottom polycarbonate Erlenmeyer flasks are suitable for routine culture, medium preparation, mixing and storage.
Baffled Erlenmeyer flasks create stronger liquid agitation and can improve gas exchange and oxygen dissolution. However, additional agitation may increase shear force, so the bottom design should be selected according to the culture requirements.
Choose a Seal or Vent Filter CapSeal caps are suitable for closed handling and storage applications.
Vent filter caps incorporate a 0.22μm hydrophobic membrane to support gas exchange while helping maintain a protected culture environment.
Polycarbonate or PETG Erlenmeyer Flasks?Polycarbonate and PETG Erlenmeyer flasks can both be used for sterile culture, mixing and laboratory handling. The appropriate material depends on the required capacity, temperature conditions and validated laboratory process.
